We just got an interesting note from from one of our friends here in the city. We don't know ALL the facts, so we will only report what we know. Apparently there is someone here in the city trying to ride out on ambulances who is a convicted child molester. We hear he tried to tag along with a Wishard crew recently and was caught. Apparently he was warned against doing this again, but everyone still needs to keep an eye out. If you have a student or guest rider show up that you are not familiar with, check him out before you let him anywhere near your truck. It is always better to be safe than unemployed.

The individual in question is Wayne A Hartz. For a photo go to http://www.insor.org/insasoweb/ and type in his name. I have knowledge that he has done/tried this in Perry Twp, Avon, Brownsburg, Wayne Twp, Wishard and Plainfield. I know that he has been reported to the Indiana EMS Commission as he is an Indiana certified first responder [how he achieved that I am not sure]. I have verified that on the EMS Commission web site where you can verify certifications. It is my understanding that IMPD along with Plainfield PD is working on the issue. I would encourage all of you to go to the we site listed above and see this persons photo. He is a scourge on the face of TRUE EMS providers.
