Well, the decision has been made and it looks like Interim Chief Sanford is "The Man." What does this say about the departments future in EMS?
Sanford has been known as a pro EMS guy and the old Warren folks swear by him. Will he be able to pull EMS out of the dungeon that the previous administration managed to get it into? EMS got a bad rap for running the departments overtime budget into the ground. It was in fact the lack of a serious budget combined with poor operational planning that landed it where it was. Not enough money and too few people to do the job.
What changes can be expected now that there is someone who actually knows something about EMS at the top. Will we see more respect?
On a closing note, referring to EMT's as "Ambulance Drivers" shows not only a lack of understanding as to what we do, but a lack of respect to those that work hard for certification.

When you say "everyone", specifically who are you talking about and what is the purpose? I guess I don't understand the question or the purpose behind the question.......:(

Hey 11:50, you're so full of shit you can't sit down. Stop with those stupid ass rumors. You got no facts are simply trying to stir the pot. WMH is taking over huh? You might want to ask Chief Sanford about that. Curious as to why IFD is hiring additional educators, a Quality Assurance Officer, and 5 additional paramedics. Or is that just to throw everyone off. WMH couldn't take over a day care, let alone IFD EMS. MORON!!!!!!!

Why can't we all just get along. Why does everyone have to bash wishard. We are all working hard. We all have the same goal in mind. If IFD does give up EMS then so be it. IF Wishard does turn into IFD then be that to. WE all still have the same goal. So lets stop bashing each other there is enough violence and trash already on th streets.

My certification is 10016 [or at least it used to be - we are all getting new cert numbers called Public Safety Numbers] - I am a proud ambulance driver too. Sometimes all we offer are a few comforting words and a trop to the hospital.
