Pike Issues

We have received an interesting email and we are looking for more information on this. Are there problems in Pike Twp. regarding certifications? Is Pike looking at changing how they do their EMS? We don't have all the facts so we won't go any farther, but we want more information. We don't have many contacts up there and we are very interested. If you know what we're talking about give us a little more.

Stay Safe

There is some truth to this. Pike is feeling the budget crunch and looking for alternative ways to do things. It is possible that they may replace one or two of their Medic units with a non-sworn service - what ever that may look like.

We all need to take a lesson here, even the mighty can fall. EMS is an important part of public safety, but we cannot escape the budgetary chopping block. We need to make sure that we are seen as invaluable to the community. That means being nice to people and doing the right thing ALWAYS - no matter if it is what you want to do or not. There have been lay offs at ambulance services in Indiana [Logansport I am told - a municipal provider]. Go out there and represent your profession well.
