Our friends over at indybravest are reporting an interesting rumor. It seems as though Perry and Beech Grove are considering a merger that may or may not be true, and may or may not include Franklin Twp. Since BG and Franklin Twp. run their own EMS, and Perry runs with Rural Metro, what will this newly formed FD do for EMS? FT currently runs with FF/Medics on the ambulances, and we don't have the slightest idea how staffing is done on the BG trucks. We also know that BG has a Wishard truck running out of one of their houses. How will that fall into the mix? If anyone has heard anything, we would love to hear it.

I wish that I had a dollar for every rumor that came out of Perry Twp. I could retire early.
I work for Franklin twp. It's bogus. If Perry doesn't consolidate with IFD, then I suppose, it's a possibilty. But they have to get it done before January 09, which is when the new board takes over in FTFD. If they can get get it done before then...maybe !! The new FTFD advisory board is Pro-IFD and will never allow that to happen.
Perry fire is nothing but a bunch of disgruntled and hateful jokers. They hate EMS and nag when they have to go on a fire run.
They want Rural/Metro out or Perry and don't want to do EMS.
IFD wants nothing to do with Perry. Franklin Twp better be ready to handle all of Perry's problems.
EMS is in the job description of the fire service. Why do some firefighter's hate it?

Well that is a bunch of crap as well. I was on a Franklin twp amb. for several years. I rarely had a problem with the perry guys, they were more willing to do EMS than some of my people. I understand there will be a few turds in every group of people. For the most part Perry is Pro-EMS, and they NEVER gripe about EMS runs....Im assuming you worked for Rural Metro, and you're tired of being treated like a second rate citizen...THEN GET OUT !!!
