Happy EMS Week

This was sent in by a loyal reader tonight. Thanks for the pic.

Methodist wants to thank all the EMS providers during EMS Week. That is if you work from breakfast until dinner. To those of you that work overnight......Well, it's not like EMS is a 24 hour business or anything.

Stay Safe

What a shock they don't consider those that work at night to be just as important as the ones that work days. Don't forget Community East is having a lunch cook out for those that work days. It is a slap in the fac to those of us that work nights. It has always been that way. We don't matter to them.

Then go to days and quit whining. Christ, what are you gonna miss, a burnt hot dog and warm potato salad? I'll pass. I don't need a picnic to feel like I do a good job.

Who said that the night people want to go to days. I personally enjoy working nights. I just think that we should feel appreciated like the people on days do. I enjoy my joob and I enjoy the work that I do. I just think its time that EVERYONE gets appreciated and not just the ones that work 9 to 5

During EMS week I have ALWAYS gotten something when I was at Methodist. No matter what time I was there, 2am or 2pm. Of course, they have more food/stuff at 2pm, but I have never left without fruit, donuts, or soda from the EMS room. The triage person usually makes sure they have enough of the handout items for nights as well.

If you aren't happy with the set up, I am sure the hospitals will gladly cut it out of the budget for everyone concerned. They go to alot of trouble and expense during this week. I dont get to go because my coverage area doesn't include a hospital. Maybe I should cry about not getting food delivered to my station. How rediculous is that?

Listen folks, if you thought EMS was a job where you are gonna get "treats" and thank-yous all the time, you are sorely mistaken. Besides, you are getting more money to work nights anyway and if you are waiting for a pat on the back, pull up a chair, its gonna be a while.
